Wellness can be achieved by understanding the interaction between both our physical and emotional reaction to stress, and the way we make sense of what is happening in our lives. Releasing physical tension opens the door to emotional awareness, thereby allowing  the ability to make sense of and improve our circumstances.
Anxiety requires calming; depression requires the activation of the body to start the process of wellness.
In either case, focusing on the body as a starting point gives us some control over our situation. Next comes understanding what emotional awareness is, in order to make sense of what we are actually feeling. This is when our perception about what is happening changes in a positive way!
